Garland's Gymnastics
General Policies
Trial Class Policy     New students may try a class out, only if there is space available on the class roster.  If after the trial class the parent/caregiver decides to not enroll in our program, the parent/caregiver will not be obligated to pay for the class.  However, if the parent or caregiver decides to enroll in our program, they will be charged for the trial class.

Monthly Billing Policy     Billing is based on an average of 4 classes in a month.  You will notice that most classes have 3-5 classes each month.  Because billing is based on an average of 4 classes, Garland's does not adjust billing for months that have more or less than 4 classes in them.  (Our REC. calendar indicates how many classes for each month at the bottom of each month, so that you can see how the months/weeks balance over a year's time.)  Only new clients are prorated, if they shoud begin mid-month.

Garlands does not mail out individual monthly statements for tuition.  All clients must pay for the upcoming month during Garland's Priority Registration Week which is shaded gray on the recreation calendar.  A reminder will be posted on the gym door and statements will be handed out to the gymnasts attending the last two classes of the month.  The office must receive payment at this time or you could risk losing the gymnast's spot on the next month's roster.  If an employee at the office window is unavailable, cash or check payments can be placed in the black mailbox by the office door.  If paying by cash, please place the money in an envelope with your name and your child's name on it.  We also welcome debit/credit card (Visa, MasterCard, and Discover) payment by phone and at the window.

Family Registration Fee Policy     This is a one time a year, one fee per family, $40 fee that is applied to your first tuition payment and then again every year on your registration anniversary.

Refund Policy     Unfortunately, there are NO REFUNDS of registration fees or tuition.  However, for some approved circumstance credit towards future fees may be granted.  Contact the office or Coach Brett @ 582-4750 to explain your circumstances, as soon as possible.

Absente Policy     Because it is the goal of Garlands to keep the student/coach ratio low, we rarely are able to grant make-ups.  However, a parent/caregiver may stop by the office to pick up a "We Missed You" Open Gym Pass that can be used to atttend any of our open gym times free of charge.  Each gymnast is limited to one pass, per month.

Determining an "Active" Class "Inactive" Policy     If a class's enrollment should drop to less than 4 students in a summer month or 3 students in a school year month, the class could be combined with another class scheduled at the same time and day or the class could be declared temporarily "inactive".  If the class becomes inactive, the gymnast will be placed on a waiting list for the discontinued class in the hopes that the class will become active once again with the addition of new students.  The gymnast will then be temporariily transferred to another class that has stronger enrollment.  Typically, summer enrollement numbers do drop and we are forced to make these adjustments with some classes.

Attire Policy     Gymnasts should wear comfortable fitted clothing (sweat pants, fitted t-shirts, athletic shorts, etc.)  No jeans and other clothing with buttons, snaps, or zippers are allowed.  Clean socks and clean bare feet are appreciated.  Older females students are encouratged to dress modestly.  We do have several leotards, shorts, and t-shirts for sale at our GK, Resale and Garland's Apparel rack near the office.  For the safety of the gymnasts, long bangs and hair must be pulled back into a ponytail before class begins.  All gymnasts must remove jewelry and any outer clothing in preparations for class.  Wooden cubbies are provided in the waiting area for storage.

Viewing Policy     Parent/caregivers and siblings are always welcome to watch practices.  However, if parents/caregivers should leave the gym during class time, they must let the child's coach know.  Also, parents/caregivers must make plans with the gymnast to wait inside the gym until they return.

While watching, parents should keep in mind that too many directives can be overwhelming for most children.  Our partnership with our parents is important to the success of the gymnast, but any behavior or skill issues should be addressed with the child or coach after the class is over or by appointment.

Waiting siblings must be watched by a responsible adult.  Siblings must remain in the waiting aera away from the mats and gym equipment for obvious safety reasons.  We do provide books, activity pages and coloring books to help waiting children pass the time.  Activity books, pencils and crayons can be checked out from the office.  Please return the borrowed items when class is over and clean up after your child before leaving.

Non-participating "friends of gymnasts" must have a responsible adult present with them at all times.

What about bad weather?     Check the radio for school closures in Kennewick.  We will follow their cancellations for the mornings.

Holidays Policy     The gym will be closed on the following days for the respective holidays… Labor Day (Sept 6), Thanksgiving Break (Nov 25 & 26), Winter Break (Dec 20 - 31), Spring Break (April 4 - 8), and Memorial Day (May 30) there will be no recreation classes on those days!
